KCR is a very shrewd politician and realized that having a national party will strengthen him. KCR bravely changed his TRS into BRS and great wars were expected. There was terrific movement and KCR said he will change India. But suddenly, there is the silence of the graveyard at night. People thought KCR is a great Samurai warrior, who are brave and most fearless warriors of the world from Japan. But suddenly, KCR has become the samurai who won’t fight
Many people ask if KCR was serious and really had a sharp sword to fight a national battle. Or KCR had only a ‘cinema sword ‘? Where is the sword of justice, which KCR said he will wield across India?
Many of KCR followers went across India and spread KCR’’s message on how KCR made Telengana golden and he will make India also golden. But now, even his followers are hiding, just like KCR’s sword.
KCR is shrewd and there is a good reason he went silent. KCR realized that he cannot fight across the country, when the Delhi Liquor Scam is there. The sight of Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia of Delhi in jail and Delhi chief minister Kejriwal looking terrified must have cautioned KCR.
Though KCR is silent now, there was a time when poets compared KCR to proud, brave Rajput warriors, who preferred death to cowardice. But now, even those “Pogudars “are silent. Even opposition leaders are puzzled why KCR has gone silent
The new challenge for KCR is the Delhi Liquor Scam. Late Prime Minister Narasimha Rao borrowed an English proverb which said “If you ignore a problem, it will go away”. Maybe KCR is silent because he hopes problems will go away?
In 2019, KCR opposed the Congress for leadership of the oppositions and finished it. After forming the BRS, KCR said he will become a national leader. But strangely, after formation of the BRS, KCR has avoided elections.
1. KCR travelled across the country and met opposition leaders. KCR found Kumarswamy, ex-Chief Minister of Karnataka a ready partner. Everyone thought that KCR would wage a terrific fight in Karnataka elections. But KCR dumped Kumarswamy and ignored Karnataka elections. KCR did not want to anger the Congress.
2. KCR sent his MPs to sit with the Congress in Delhi. This was a big signal that KCR will not fight the Congress.
3. Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar announced a big opposition meeting on June 23, 2023 in Patna. But KCR is absenting himself. The only reason is that he does not want to be seen as having compromised with Congress, till Telengana elections are over.
4. Recently, in Maharashtra, KCR has been holding meetings. But KCR said he will contest only the Panchayat elections. Senior leader Sharad Pawar and others are amused at KCR.
5. Telengana elections will be held within 5 months .KCR said that he wants to be distant from both BJP and Congress. KCR may become friendly with Congress after elections.
6. KCR has stopped abusing Congress leaders as he is fully aware that the Congress might demand arrests in Delhi Liquor Scam. KCR is both friend and enemy of the Congress at the same time.
Possible plans of KCR
a. KCR does not want to fight on too many fronts. Why fight both the Congress and BJP? KCR feels that the opposition will shelter him from political damage due to Delhi Liquor Scam.
b. KCR has stopped his national travels. KCR is obviously waiting for the Telengana elections to be over. If KCR wins Telengana , then he will take out his sword. If he loses, then he will throw away the sword.
c. For KCR, victory is critical in Telengana . If KCR loses, then all his loyal followers will vanish and all his pet officers will flee. KCR wants to avoid such shame.
d. KCR is quietly recruiting leaders in many states. But if KCR loses Telengana, then those leaders will be forgotten ,just as Kumarswamy was. KCR cannot fight elections in States where regional parties are powerful. How can KCR fight Stalin, Mamata Banerjee, Thackeray, Sharad Pawar & Nitish Kumar?
e. KCR will also not dare fight elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh where Congress is strong. Most people thought that KCR was a brave samurai ! Strangely, KCR, the great Samurai, now refuses to fight . His BRS party may become an NGO! .
f. 2 great political warriors of India are KCR and Kejriwal. But they have become like the Switzerland army, which has great uniforms, weapons , but never fights wars. The Swiss army has not fought in hundreds of years.
What after Telengana elections?
My guess is that if KCR wins Telengana, he will start plotting wars again. Nearly 750 years, a great English poet Geoffrey Chaucer said” Time and tide wait for no man “. It maybe that KCR has lost his historic chance already.
KCR lost a great opportunity to enter Karnataka elections, as he did not want to anger the Congress. In politics and life, chances don’t come again. What Shakespeare said 500 years ago is valid for KCR today. “There is a tide in the affairs of men, which when taken at the flood, leads on to fortune”.
Time will tell whether KCR has missed his chance. Definitely, the Delhi Liquor Scam has curbed both KCR and Kejriwal. Sad that KCR and Kejriwal have run away. If Indian-origin Rishi Sunak of England also ran away, he would not have become Prime Minister.
